My week in food pics

My fridge was empty so I had to make do with what was on offer; some leftover smoked salmon, beef tomatoes, frozen broccoli and eggs. Always eggs 🙂 I love me some eggs. This was pretty tasty and sorted me out with regards to vegetables cravings! The protein filled me up too.

Two beef burgers and whilst I was out perusing my veggie patch I dug up my first beetroot (albeit a little early methinks…) and decided to do the taste test! I bough yellow beetroot seeds on purpose because they save on the pink stains that come with the regular kind. I don’t know why I am so shocked to report that this actually tasted like normal beetroot! I just steamed it in the microwave because I wasn’t sure what else to do with it. Any suggestions?

I used it on a nice salmon fillet before steaming and drizzled the extra over some broccoli. Tasty stuff!

I used up some fresh blueberries in this batch which turned out quite nice. I thought they would be a bit bitter but they were actually delicious and made the batter go further than usual, meaning extra pancakes for me!
