May Favourites

May favourites

This month I waved my brother off to Australia for a year and also ran my first 10k alongside my mum. I have been eating paleo and working to the Whole30 plan (see for details) which has surprisingly seen great results for my skin. Consequently I’ve not needed much make up so have been favouring these products:

Elemis Fresh Skin Mattifying Moisturiser: I normally have really dry skin but recently my T-zone has been totally unmanageable. This is a great product for combination skin and essentially acts as a primer as well as a moisturiser. I find it compliments my Revlon Photo Ready foundation perfectly and helps it stay in place all day. I got this free with a magazine a few months a go but will definitely be purchasing the real thing when I run out.

Yes To Carrots C Through the Night: I have never used a night cream before and this has been a good one for me to start with. It is paraben free and made for normal/dry skin and goes on beautifully. I apply after cleansing just before bed and it smells heavenly as well as feeling really luxurious. Love it!

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer: This has been a cult favourite for ages now but I really have been in love with this product this month. When my skin feels great all I need it a dab of this on my blemishes and I don’t even need foundation. I like to use a little and add some mascara if I’m heading out for a run or to the gym. Perfect!

Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge: I use this lip and cheek product in shade ‘blushed rose 3’ which I find works well with my pale skin tone. During the Spring/Summer months I always reach for a cream blush because its just so easy to use and feels light on the skin. Paired with the Elemis moisturiser above this will stay put on my cheeks for a good 6 hours without budging.

Benefit World Famous Neutrals: I bought this palette when Debenhams had 10% off and kind of bought it on a whim. I hadn’t read any reviews or really heard about it at all but I’m so pleased with the results. It comes with 2 cream eye shadows which I have actually used before and loved (‘r.s.v.p.’ and ‘no pressure!’) as well as four regular shadows which can be used to create a variety of looks. I know I’ll use this everyday until its empty. I am in love!
